For NPC Battles, it is 6 dice rolls. If you add all of them up, you need at least 20 for a win. There is a limit of 4 NPC Battles a day. Gym Battles DO count, and only THREE gym battles per day. -Ashli

For a pokemon to evolve, it need to have been in 10 battles for its first evolution if it has a second reset and reach 15 battles. Also, 6 pokemon maximum. -Ashli

Viridan City

Viridian City is a small city surrounded by forest. The Viridian Forest is popular for being an excellent spot for catching bug-type PokéMon. Caterpie and Weedle, as well as their evolutions, are common sights around the city, and Viridian Forest is swarming with them. Many trainers in Viridian will become Bug Catchers and spend their time trying to navigate the forest to find the best bug types. There's even an official Bug Catchers club!

Pewter City

Nestled in the mountains, Pewter City has the highest elevation of all of Kanto's major cities. The trees thin out here, but the city is still reasonably forested. The Pewter Museum of Science can be found on the north side of the city. The fossils of ancient PokéMon are on display here, and the museum runs a special theme for the second floor exhibits every month. The nearby Mount Moon is a popular tourist site and many trainers head there in the hopes of catching themselves an ever-elusive Clefairy.

Cereulan City

Water is the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of Cerulean. Cerulean City is built over a series of canals, much like Venice. Walkways follow the canals and bridges arc over them to get from one city block to another. Sadly the canal water is not the type to swim in and fishing in the canals is strictly forbidden. However, the city is bordered by a wide river to the north, where the water quality is much better and fishing is permitted. The Gym here is (predictably) water type oriented and owned by the Four Sisters of Cerulean.

Saffron City

Saffron is the largest city in Kanto and also its capital city. It's well-guarded and very central, located between Cerulean, Lavender, Vermilion, and Celadon. Guard posts are established at the start of each route leading out of the city, and it can sometimes be difficult to get into Saffron because of the tight security. The headquarters of Silph Co are located here, which includes its research and development department.

Celadon City

The second largest city in Kanto, Celadon is known for its tall skyline and famous department store. Celadon is the largest importer of products from outside the Kanto region; if you're looking for it, you can probably find it here. It's also a large black market hub, though the city's seedy underbelly is not widely known outside of the appropriate circles.

Fuschia City

Fuschia City is home to the Safari Zone, a PokéMon preserve with many rare PokéMon that can't be caught anywhere else. For a fee, trainers can enter and attempt to catch these rare PokéMon; they have to leave their PokéMon and PokéBalls at the front desk and are then sent into the preserve with 30 Safari Balls and a time limit; capture in the Safari Zone is pure luck based on the Safari Ball's catch rate. Warden "Slowpoke" is in charge of the Safari Zone; he's said to be friends with Koga, who patrols the grounds on occasion.

Vermillion City

The seaside city of Vermilion is a busy port town. Its main income comes from fishing and trade with the other regions. The citizens are very careful about water pollution, fearing the popular belief that Muk breed in polluted water. The SS Anne, a luxury cruise liner for PokéMon trainers, makes port in Vermilion City annually and an unofficial (not League sponsored) PokéMon tournament is held on board the ship.

Cinnabar Island

Cinnabar is a volcanic island that has been converted into a resort city. People still live here of course, but the place's main industry has become tourism. There's also a rather large research facility here for the study of the island's native PokéMon (fire types from the volcano and water types from the ocean), but access is restricted and the general public is not premitted inside this facility. There is a legend told here of a human type PokéMon that Surfs up and down the east coast of the island. Many people claim to have seen it, but their stories aren't particularly reliable. Skeptics will write off the sightings as drunken hallucinations or a Jynx playing pranks on people. The mysterious PokéMon has been nicknamed "Missingno" by the locals.

Battle Factory

Battle Factory will be another battle venue at Sinnoh's Battle Frontier, having basically the same ruling as the Hoenn Battle Frontier's Battle Factory. It is always a best of 3 battle. It is held in a blue stadium that has an odd similarity to a Prinplup's head.

Nejiki is the Frontier Brain for the Battle Factory.

Oreborugh City

its name might imply, Oreburgh City is a mining town that supplies Sinnoh with metals and gems. Its most prominent feature is the number of vents located throughout the city, which exchange stale air from the mines with clean air from above the ground. Aside from the mines, the city is also home to the Oreburgh Mining Museum, a place dedicated to educating the public about mining. It also hosts a collection of ancient Pokémon fossils that have been recovered from the ground, as well as the labs of a few geologists and Pokémon experts who study the finds. The Oreburgh Gym is also located within the city, a popular spot for the miners to train their helpful Machops.

Eterna City

One of the oldest cities in Sinnoh is that of Eterna City. Most of the city is built in an older style of architecture, and one can almost feel the passage of time within its stone walls. A museum housing artifacts of days gone by can be found within the city, as well as a large square housing a large statue of the creator Pokémon, Dialga and Palkia. This square used to be the site of festivals and rituals, but alas, kids these days aren't paying as much attention to the old ways as they used to. Besides the museum, the city is also home to the Eterna Gym, a herb shop, and a bicycle shop, and is also the main entry point to the Sinnoh Underground - explorer kits permitting passage to the tunnels are handed out in the city. It is also said that Team Galactic has set up a base of operations in the city as of late, but they (mostly) keep to themselves and their large tower.

Hearthome City

Lying in the very centre of Sinnoh is the city of Hearthome. This is a city of growth, in many ways - it started out as a gathering spot for people and Pokémon, and eventually grew into a city of commerce. Additionally, it is home to many young families, and has been voted as one of the best places to live in Sinnoh many a time. It is also a huge centre of attraction for Pokémon trainers; aside from the Hearthome Gym, the Super Contest Hall is stationed in the city, the ultimate home of breeding contests in Sinnoh - although there are smaller contests held throughout the region, the Sinnoh Breeding Society only recognizes results from this institution. The Sinnoh branch of the Pokémon Fan Club also operates out of Hearthome, as does Bebe, the administrator for Sinnoh's Pokémon Storage System. Amity Square, a large park to the north of the town, is a popular place for people to take strolls and let their Pokemon roam free. The First Church of Arceus, with its distinctive architecture and renowned stained glass windows, is also found within the city, where people offer up prayers to the supposed creator of the world.

Pastoria City

The southeastern coast of Sinnoh is home to a large swamp, and it is here that the city of Pastoria lies. The Great Marsh, as the area is known, used to be part of the sea, but as the waters receded over time, the land was left behind in its swampy state. The city is an excellent place for water Pokémon trainers, as the marsh keeps the region very temperate - and besides, there are some rare critters that can only be found in the marsh. Croagunk is one of these, and it has become the city's mascot. There is a gym to be found in Pastoria, but the greatest draw is really the Great Marsh itself - it is a well-known Pokémon preserve, and like the Safari Zone in Kanto, can be entered by trainers (without any help from their team!) for a fee in order to attempt to catch the Pokémon living there.

Vielstone City

The second-largest city in the country is Veilstone City. It was carved out of steep and rocky mountains long ago, and is surrounded by these walls, with entire sections of the city built on raised projections. Alas, it is quite isolated from the rest of Sinnoh. It is the site of many meteorite landings, and these meteorite pieces are even occasionally given away as prizes in its popular Game Corner. The city also has a large department store, mostly devoted to trainers and their Pokémon. It is the headquarters of Team Galactic, and they have both a large office building and warehouse on the northern end of town.

Canalave City

Canalave City is the westernmost city of Sinnoh. It is a port town, and has a large canal running right through the centre of the city - a moving bridge connects the two halves, while allowing shipping traffic in to the city's bay. The city has something of an exotic quality in the air, perhaps as a result of the many foreign workers that live and travel to the city. While it used to be the major port of Sinnoh, that duty has been mostly taken over by Sunyshore these days. Still, some cargo is still moved back and forth here, and the three islands in the northwest of the country are linked by ferry to the city, as well.

Snowpoint City

only city lying in the northern province of Sinnoh is Snowpoint City. It is a very isolated city, located at the very tip of the country, beside Lake Acuity. Snow constantly blows down from the top of Mt Coronet, and the only time in which the city and surrounding environs do not have a blanket of the stuff is in the months of July and August. The gym is of course the major draw to the city, but there is a small container port as well; a ferry to the Battle Zone also sails out of the city. The mysterious Snowpoint Temple lies in the north end of the city, but only certain people are allowed access to its inner chambers.

Sunnyshore City

The eastern-most city of Sinnoh is that of the port town Sunyshore. The city is built between a sandspit and a few rocky islands, and a large roadway rises up above, linking all of the points of Sunyshore together - and this roadway also cleverly doubles as the city's power source, as it is built completely out of solar panels. An open-air market operates during the temperate seasons, and tourists flock to see a natural statue in the bay resembling a Munchlax. The Vista Lighthouse ensures that all ships make it to the port safe and sound - and it makes a pretty good observation deck, too. The final gym of the Sinnoh League can be found in this town
